The eye-catching Shrimp Hakao are a delicious and attractive addition to any plate. They make a welcome change from the traditional plain Chinese variety, and the vivid colour is achieved using entirely natural methods and ingredients.

Each portion contains a tasty mixture of shrimp with authentic Asian vegetables and spices, such as bamboo shoot, water chestnut and ginger. This filling is hand-wrapped in wheat and corn-based pastry into individual bundles. Each bundle is a convenient 20g size, so the Shrimp Hakao are ideal as starters, sides, snacks or even in soup, for restaurants, caterers, cafés and at any events. They’re great for decorating all kinds of seafood dishes.

All ingredients are guaranteed by our Clean Label promise, so we use no chemical soaking and the colour is achieved using natural curcumin (turmeric).

Cooking Instructions

Steam: Put the frozen hakao in a steamer. Steam for 6-7 minutes or until the core temperature is above 60°C.

Pan Fry: Preheat the oil to 140-150°C in a frying pan. Add the frozen hakao allowing plenty of space between each piece. Sizzle until the bottom of the hakao are slightly charred. While the pan is hot, add 100ml water (caution: oil may splash). Cover the pan and cook until the water has evaporated completely. Gently remove the hakao and serve immediately.
